A reader, Michael Fox, said it best: “I believe that you go right for the jugular."

Both the House and Senate Republicans’ reconciliation proposals will give more to the richest Americans, while taking from those who have the least. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that:
the poorest 10% of households will pay $133 per month more in taxes,
the richest 10% will receive $1,000 per month in tax relief.
This is not equitable, is it? This is pure, unadulterated greed at its very worst. This is unconscionable conduct for elected representatives.
These Republican giveaways to the ultra-wealthy and corporations are coupled with $150 billion added to the already-bloated Pentagon budget and a new $200 billion slush fund to tear apart immigrant families and build detention camps. All of this is paid for by taking health care and food assistance from millions. The Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) is cruelly designed:
To deny hungry children food;
To push millions off of healthcare through added work requirements;
To evict elderly from hospitals and nursing homes; and
To shut down half of all rural hospitals and clinics,
and it is disgustingly cruel governance.
Taking food from children to pad the wealthy’s bank accounts is not governance of the people for the people.
When the justifications are to give corporations and the wealthy $460 billion in tax relief by punishing those at the bottom of the economic ladder—pushing them deeper into poverty—it is time to Vote’m Out. Here is my Project 2026 banner in 2 colors. Download and save.
In 2026, we have a key opportunity to seize the House and Senate if we pledge to unite and fight together to do so.
I only see in the BBB an imperative to seek its demise. We can do that now and take on Project 2026 after that. There are only a few weeks to render the BBB asunder. Many distractions are being proffered, but I will not look away from the mission to destroy the life-threatening BBB. The BBB will kill and bankrupt our most vulnerable. Food will be taken from children.
Hospitals will close. Many will be forced into homelessness.
Homelessness in the richest country in the world is everywhere across this land. We see it daily, but look the other way. This is not acceptable.
Instead of addressing the problems in the country, we are dialing for dollars in Congress for corporations and the wealthy. In doing that with the BBB, we are saying literally that children and the poor can die because more than all the tax money is being given to the greedy oligarchy.
Currently we annually pay $1 trillion in interest on our national debt. Nearly half of that is the last tax cut for the rich. The BBB will take our annual national deficit to $2.6 trillion overnight.
Future generations will be forced to deal with a national deficit nearly twice its current $36 trillion size. I can see the current deficit growing to $69 trillion by 2035, and then there will be $3.6 trillion of annual interest on that accumulated national debt.
In its projections, the CBO softballs future inflation rates (2%). Further, our economy’s interest rates are going up as our national creditworthiness declines! That impacts each of us. The CBO softballs future interest rates (3.5%). I call BS. They are underestimating the impact as they always do. It was the CBO that told us the 2017 TCJA tax bill would be deficit neutral. Now we find out that it costs us $460 billion a year: $4.6 trillion over the next 10 years.
Republicans want to make permanent the for-the-rich 2017 tax cut that expires in December.
Let us take a look at more credible drivers to the 10-year deficit growth, like our current 2.4% inflation growing to 3% and our current interest rates gradually increasing from the current 4.91% to 5.8%. Those are more plausible, and how I see the deficit in 2035 at $69 billion.
We are in a divide now, one of many. Trump attacked Iran to distract from his tax cut in Congress. Make no mistake. Trump is doing another distraction dance, 1) raids in LA, 2) striking Iran, etc., simply to gut Medicaid, Medicare, and Supplemental Nutrition programs to enhance the BBB’s prospects.
What you ask is Trump’s problem? I want this to be very clear! Trump faces horrendous taxes on bitcoin profits. A huge tax cut is his only real focus. Likewise that of the Republican crooks in Congress.
If you think Trump cares about anything other than his own billfold, you are zombie-like deluded. Further, you do not understand narcissistic personality disorder. It that case, I do not see hope for you.
The rest of us must tilt the National balance to egalitarianism, and you know well we have a bounty of love to give.
It irks me that the haters are so few in number, but so very well funded. We can forge our fate in 2026 only if we can build a foundation inspiring enough of our voters to weigh in.
In the meantime, we must take to the streets en masse on July 17 to honor Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights icon. We can surpass the June 14th numbers protesting. That was 11 million to 13.4 million. I hear both.
Next month let us go out there 20 to 25 million strong!!! And yell, as Jackson Brown sang, til you go down. Yes, lay down in their streets.

When can we kill this bill permanently? I’m sick of hearing about these assholes and their plans. I’m probably one of the people who would benefit from this thing and even *I* hate it. (And when is the Republican Party going to remove Trump, who suffers increasingly from severe dementia-it’s becoming painfully obvious to everyone- from office?)
Thanks for this thorough analysis, Carl. Keep spreading the word!
