We, the people, must enforce equitable equality. Why? Because those at the bottom have been held there by the boots of racism, Jim Crow, xenophobia. and class tyranny.
Equality has been held at bay for so many, and when the door is opened just a crack, no gift of equity lifts those injured and subjugated to even the middle class.
Equity says that we have a debt to pay to lift the bottom to the middle where you are. This must be the role of our Democratic Party.
I found this article to explain better these terms:
While these terms might sound similar, they are different and drastically result in different outcomes when responding to inequitable situations. The below image helps to visualize these differences:
As we can see in the above image by Tony Ruth, the tree helps to represent our systems and institutions, in which the tree is bent to one side and thus giving that side more access to fruit. Note, while the tree might have a naturally occurring bend, it’s important to remember that the social systems and institutions that are in our society are not naturally inequitable, but instead, the result of discriminatory practices and beliefs that has made them intentionally designed to reward certain demographics.
The thought behind equality is that each person or group of people is given the same tools and resources, or opportunities. We can see that if we were just to apply equality in our answer to the inequity to this situation, that is everyone gets a ladder of the same height, it doesn’t help solve the problem for the person on the right. They are still at a disadvantage.
Equity, on the other hand, recognizes that people have different circumstances, and then allocates the tools and resources, or opportunities based on what the individual needs to reach an equal outcome. We see this illustrated by the right side having a larger ladder in order to have the same opportunity to pick fruit from the tree as the left side. Equity ensures that everyone is able to have the same opportunity.
It’s important to note that while equity can help create equal opportunities, it doesn’t fix or solve the inequity built into the system. Addressing the root cause of inequity, such as standing the tree straighter so that both sides can access the fruit, is an important step towards reaching justice.
You have not seen the Democratic Party establish its equitable equality charter for the next decade. This 10-point plan is how forward I am pushing the DNC to go:
Childcare is a right of working persons
Student lunch is a school course
Citizenship earns education through college
Heathcare is your right as a person
Equitable taxes are constituted responsibility
We thank you with elderly care to the end
Only people may sponsor politics
Ecology and Environment will be healthy
Food and Drug oversight will ensure safety
Obviously, your point is missing to make it a 10 pointer! Go ahead, add to this list. Help is solicited.
Also, you and Gavin Newsom have not heard anything from the DNC. I did this list with excellent input from astute commenters. There is no input from the DNC. They are out to lunch. I left telephone messages. They don’t call back. Must be busy. I have written on this before:
The reason we did this list is because the DNC is too busy basking in the donations. They are proud of the amount raised, and are celebrating that. I must ask. You sent them donations when they had no platform? I did.
I think we messed up there. I am shutting them off until I think they become responsible. Until they enforce equitable equality as their policy going forward, I see no reason to entertain their requests. We, the people, must create and enforce equitable equality.
I will spend my time and money protesting, until they shoot me. That is how I will enforce equitable equality—as Jackson Browne sang—til I go down.

No. 10: Classrooms become sanctuaries and havens of safety. No child bullies or is bullied. Gun-free zones replace senseless mass casualty events. Where earning takes place, fear is not present.
Very, very good rules! We have waited a long time for such strong clarity in our demands of the ruling class. Now we must never, ever give up until these rules are concienciously understood and happily followed by all! This is the very definition of a sane and aware society. Thank you for Elucidating it!
