Believe them when they slip up and tell the truth. Republicans in Minnesota nominated for Senate on August 13, 2024, the former basketball player Royce White. He slipped up and said what I would never say in my house. He said that, “Women have become too mouthy.”
White said that on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast. Also he said, “Donald Trump could get up on stage, pull his pants down, take a sh*t up at the podium, and I still would never vote for you f*cking Democrats again.” Those are typical Republican, hate-mongering rants. Yuk! But White moves on to other rants: race-baiting, anti-Jewish, etc., and often is just confusing.
Royce White was a professional basketball player, and won the Minnesota Republican nomination to be their 2024 Senate candidate.
On the other hand, Democratic incumbent Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar sought and won a 4th term by opposing White. She recently said, “In 2022, I passed bipartisan legislation to boost antitrust enforcement funding. Earlier this year, those funds were diverted away from the Antitrust Division’s essential work to protect American consumers, workers, and entrepreneurs. I'm proud to have worked with Senator Shaheen to reverse that decision in the Senate and secure a 24% increase for next year to protect consumers and small businesses from anticompetitive behavior that increases prices, eliminates choices for consumers, and deters innovation.” That is a contrasting statement of very sound public-trust stewardship, and her antitrust experience is needed to take on the robber barons, Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Altman.
Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar puts politics aside to strengthen the economy and support families, workers, and businesses. In 2019, Vanderbilt University ranked her the “most effective” Democratic senator in the 115th Congress.
The wheels on the bus…go up and down.
The allure of Trump and Republicanism is authoritarianism, neofascism, and oligarchy. It is the voice of hate, fear mongering, and victimization, not good policy. This won n 2024.
The allure of Harris and Democrats was nationalism and egalitarianism, the voice of lifting not just the lower and middle classes, but everyone, with good policy. This lost in 2024.
These mutually exclusive attractions are rising and ebbing tides that float boats and moves the wheels on the bus up and down. The tides are much bigger than the individuals like Trump and Harris. When the individuals are removed, the opposing tidal forces will remain, taken on by others.
One tide is fueled by hate, fear, and divisiveness directed for power grabbing and outright theft from the Treasury.
The other tide is fueled by love, devotion, and inclusiveness directed at lifting the masses.
One cannot stop the ebb and flow of the tides. This is the law of physics on Earth. Our human species communes this way. No amount of negative propaganda is going to stop a high tide from rising. Remember that one point.
Socioeconomic political movements can either make society more egalitarian, or amplify populace subjugation. Never both at the same time. It is up to us make our tide rise.
Turmoil is normal when these two tides glide past each other. We are there now in turmoil. Catalysts for upheaval are: war, assassinations, mass riots, etc. Sometimes there is just confusion. Minnesota Republican Senate candidate Royce White said, “We all know when the time comes and authoritarianism is at its peak, the police and the troops who just take marching orders are going to be the ones forcibly vaccinating you and your kids.” Not with RFK, Jr. Royce was confused.
So alt-right, white nationalists, neo-Nazis, white evangelical Christians, neo-Confederates, etc., joined forces to march on August 11, 2017 in protest of a statue’s removal. They were emboldened by electing an authoritarian president while Democrats, misled by polling data, slept instead of voting in 2016 and 2024
So vote for what in 2026? There is no platform yet. There are always “righteous” contingents on both sides of the major dynamics for various reasons. Those crossing on the major dynamics create an imbalance leading to conflict. A high tide can and will sweep the election. Good things will feed our cause and float our boat: Universal healthcare/pharmacy and the end of medical debt will save us $450 billion/year. So let me stop right there. For everything, there is a season.
With major dynamics I am not talking about micro issues like gay rights…more like the American Revolution, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Women’s Suffrage, the rise of communism, the Civil Rights Act…big shifts of world-order magnitude.
These are the times that try people’s souls. We have been defeated by apathy and fear. We are there now. We must get up and fight as a coalition, a team. A platform is required that excites our people. All people. A candidate is required that can sell this new platform. Make no mistake. We have three very big jobs to do.
If you think the battle for the Nation is a responsibility, share this message where you think it might help this cause. We have little time 1) to build a coalition, 2) to build a platform, and 3) to select the leader. We must get up and fight.
Thank you Carl. Keep it up. I'm making a list of Substacks that I want to support in 2025. Your stack is on it. Now let me count my coins and get back to you.
