As Jim Acosta, a new Substack author of sound repute said, record this message:
I will not give in to the lies. I will not give into the fear. Post it on your social media.”
Jim Acosta confronted President 45 Trump at the White House, and wasn’t having the microphone snatched. Jim Acosta spoke only truth to power and did not back down to the lies. Jim Acosta is a trusted source for all of us on Substack.
Ron Fournier and Steve Schmidt discussed last night that disinformation is everywhere. Disinformation is bad. Disinformation is curable.
Disinformation is cured by reading. You must read. Read Ron Fournier. Read Steve Schmidt. Read Joyce Vance. Read Heather Cox Richardson. Read Jen Rubin. Read Jim Acosta.
The Alt Media with Adam Parkhomenko and Sam Youngman had this to say yesterday:
Jim Acosta’s decision to join Substack on the same day he left CNN is a reminder of his unwavering commitment to standing up for democracy, no matter the platform. For years, Jim was one of the last strong voices at CNN willing to challenge Donald Trump and defend the truth in the face of threats, smears, and corporate cowardice.
Now, as he begins this new chapter in independent media, I have no doubt that he’ll continue to be as fearless and impactful as ever. Independent journalism is where the fight for democracy is happening, and there’s no one better to lead the charge.
Excited to see everything he’ll do next. Let’s go, Jim.
I also watched Jim Acosta and Norman Eisen on Substack last night. A relaxed Jim, who left CNN that same day, says do not buy the lies. Stand up. Fight back. He is grateful for the Substack support. Welcome, Jim Acosta! Clearly this is the place to be.
It behooves each of us, when we find a good truth source, that we offer that source to our readers with our recommendation. I have mentioned and welcomed Jen Rubin and Jim Acosta on their first days here. I also would like to introduce you to Dr. Abbey Heffer and Leigh McGowan. Abbey reminds me of Heather Cox Richardson. Studied and clearheaded. Leigh reminds me of Steve Schmidt. Off the cuff so dead on it hurts. To make this easy, here are links to them.
Boiling. Personally, my disgust for the mainstream media (MSM) has reached a boiling point. Substack will be my source and I lean to experts of sound repute. My MSM heartburn has reasons:
Reporters no longer write for their editors, who used to be a gate guard or guardrail
Reporters now write for their audiences and audience clicks. Clicks are measured by the editors. Get the most clicks, win the award.
Reporters are now writing just to confirm the audience’s bias, measured by clicks.
On Substack we can counter. We will surpass MSM readership this year, I believe. Important new voices have joined us. Hence, we need to accept our responsibility to truth. We must up our game. We must be the storytellers.
I believe we adhere to truth or we risk losing our audience. For me, that means clearly stating whether I am stating facts or whether I am stating my opinion. Clarifying that is a critically important objective. Use imo.
The path for me. I will forget the MSM reporters. I will be respectful of those that have been misled and stupified by Fox’s constant browbeating. We have a goal to win these voters back from their cult’s brainwashing. Listen to those that are misled. Hear what they have to say. Try not to roll your eyes. Listen actively. Ask:
Why do you feel that way? (Always!)
Would free healthcare keep medical debt at bay?
Would free college benefit your family?
How do you feel about that?
We can’t call them or our readers stupid, we need them to feel our pain through our stories. We need to win them back. We cannot win them back without affinity for them or knowing who they are.
If we could get the DNC on board. (If: then; else. I remember that from programming.) If we can’t get them, else says we make a new party. It is well time we see that a two-party system no longer serves us well. I am not feeling “served”. I am feeling exploited by the DNC.

Gov. Newsom did a great job of confronting the President. He stared him down and owned this moment. Trump tried to hide his hand.
We Democrats are known for our disorganized approach to politics and are guilty of not listening when people expressed how hard their lives are. Just putting this out there as I get angrier about the DNC not returning my call.
