Trump is beginning to unravel and his lashing out is being soft pedaled by the corporate media. We need to consider how we will respond peacefully and lawfully as this worsens. Our “legal right to assemble” protests must grow in size. I am talking about every city hosting Trump!
Our social networks, just like this Substack post, will be needed to marshal our troops. Think how much fun it will be for Trump when he cannot get from the airport to his destination because throngs block the roads. No city has enough law enforcement to withstand hundreds of thousands blocking the roads. We need to organize this.
This is just the girls in 2017. Safest to send them out first. We can do this
The international resistance is growing and tariffs work both ways. The consumer is caught in the middle, and producers and manufacturers will see sales plummet. Discretionary cash is not available at my house, and many others. We will totally withdraw from the market. Overseas, there will be boycotts of U.S. products and of blockage of our tourism. Layoffs here are inevitable.
Get ready to endure this downturn in our GDP. Get ready for the recession. The increased cost of groceries will financially destroy all restaurants. They will have to endure the added costs of redoing their menus. It is a punitive punishment for them. Those new price points will drive customers back to the menu of my college days, home-cooked rice with bullion cubes. Restaurant sales will crash.
He is not stupid, he is deranged. He knows who pays in this money. His greed has no end, and he does not care the source of the money. The narcissist has only one person they love! The psychopath has no empathy. Trump is both in my one.
Leading the Resistance. Our Federal judges are standing way tall to me, as I am seeing things. It takes bravery for them to stand up to the Trump cabal. We need to laud them—to encourage other judges. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols on Friday, February 7, 2025, ordered Secretary of State Marco Rubio to: reinstate 500 USAID workers stop putting 2,200 USAID workers on administrative leave, and stop recalling 1,400 USAID workers from overseas posts. Nichols also pointed out that Trump’s own legal representatives could not and would not offer (risking perjury in court) a single piece of evidence to back up Trump’s USAID “corruption and fraud” claims. Trump made up the accusations.
Suffering extreme but typical “diarrhée verbale”, Trump was gurgling blowouts when “fermer la Bouche” is indicated.
Trump had lost in humiliating fashion in essentially every Federal lawsuit filed. It gets worse for them. The courts have threatened opposition lawyers with criminal contempt. These early findings will enlighten other judges in what to look for and what to do. A lawyer will not want to lose their legal license. They risk that for perjury and presenting frivolous arguments.
Word is out that Trump’s lawyers are backtracking and paying to enter with the courts filings of notices of corrections. You see, you can make a mistake. It is when they get caught that they have a legal way out. We don’t. Perjury is perjury for us. They get to own up and backtrack when they are caught in potential fraud. Evidently, Trump’s lawyer-hiring criteria is that the lawyer got through law school without courses in ethics.
My experience with lawyers in claims for equitable contract adjustments tells me a good lawyer will not allow you to lie. I remember compiling manual records in 6 categories for a $12 million equitable adjustment claim. (We won!) I added those 6 piles of backup records over and over and I, a math major, submitted that evidence to our attorney. The attorney had me audited and said I was wrong. I was adamant, Could not happen!
She said, do you see your hand written summary sheet where you added the 6 categories. I pulled that out. She said you are off by a penny. I was. In thousands of records and exhaustive calculations, I blew it in my last step, but the lawyer was there doing her job of due diligence.
That is the required Standard of Care for lawyers. I expect no less. Among my lawyers, THAT distinguishes the good, the bad, and the ugly. A good lawyer will not take, cannot take your word for it. They are required to do due diligence. Notices of Corrections also address a lawyer’s Standard of Care, or lack thereof. Some care about that, some do not.
The Long Road to Recovery. We will recover following a known course of action. We will grow in political numbers by gathering up the reformers in their party. As we grow numbers, we will expand our diversity and socioeconomic stratas. That is how we will grow our social power.
We must expand our peaceful protests. Those need to grow in size and get louder. We need to disrupt traffic. Simple enough. A day or two. Crowds must be huge. Bigly! Very bigly is critical to safety in numbers.
I expect repression, the water cannons and the dogs. Numbers will be needed to envelope the area. In that manner, skirmish lines are immaterial and a waste of time. The crowd must ebb and flow in a skirmish, like a great tide. Law enforcement will have to just watch this pass.
Mexico knows how to pack’em in. We can do this too. There’s great safety in great numbers.
Lastly, I expect we will need to practice sound force escalation protocols. If they invite their dogs. We unleash our dogs. Enough said.
Meidas says:
We will focus on peaceful protests. We will use our platform to serve as an organizing tool for the protests and provide advice, guidance, and resources you may need. We will help lead some of the biggest protests in American history. We will show Trump — and the world — what a real big crowd size actually looks like. The actions by Trump and Musk and their regime stooges in shutting down government agencies and taking our data, the actions by ICE in attacking migrants, and the other cruel and unusual behavior of this regime will require us to respond to their government coup by “we the people” taking to the streets and peacefully protesting. The MeidasMighty are prepared to be leaders here and will not allow the corporate media to cover it up.
I remember in a high school football practice scrimmage chasing the ball carrier to tackle him. I was going as fast running as I could because I had THE angle on that ball carrier. That is the best it gets when playing defense
I only remember the next scene. I was sitting on my butt. My two legs were stretched out perfectly in front of me and I saw the runner kind of passing by my right foot. I didn’t understand, so I just got up and got ready for the next play, just like usual.
People told me later. Bobby Shelly, playing offense, had come in from my blind side, that lower right quadrant where you can’t see. He had cut me down at the upper right thigh, and I did a complete flip in the air. I could then remember the knocked feeling under that right thigh pad. That is what that was all about.
People said they were stunned that I just got up and went back to the huddle. They did not see how that was possible. It is what we must do after getting knocked down. The next play is what matters then. In the last election, they more than left us on our butts, they ate our lunch.
This is where we are. Go forward from here. Boycotts. Strikes. Picket lines. Mix it up. We will have to show the Commitment of Rosa Parks and John Lewis. Expect repression. Document and film that.
Uniting, Diversifying, and Growing begin with your sharing this short message. We can link arms, unify, include all, and grow numbers simply by sharing. Someday, the DNC may even join our troupe. Help grow our numbers. That increases our diversity and social stratas. That increased depth and breadth will give us the social power that we need to change the balance of power and shift the pillars of the psychopathic neo-fascist’s support.
Carl, you are right about vocally supporting judges who follow the rule of law. They need to know that we stand behind them.
I did some research. Here is where you can contact Judge Nichols. https://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/contact. Here is what I wrote that your readers can use as a script.
"Thank you for standing up for the rule of law in the matter of AMERICAN FOREIGN SERVICE
ASSOCIATION vs TRUMP by issuing a temporary restraining order blocking the U.S. Agency for International Development from placing thousands of employees on administrative leave and hurriedly evacuating workers stationed overseas."
That was anEXCELLENT, ENCOURAGING post!
