ex-Judge Daniel Solomon posted this information and I had to share it.
On an individual basis, some Congressional Republicans are quite vulnerable, both morally and politically. We must 1) exploit an imbalance in this opportunity and 2) take advantage of 3-4 seats to be vacated by the current Republican occupants.
Of the 33 regularly scheduled Senate elections in 2026, 1️⃣3️⃣ seats are held by Democrats and 2️⃣0️⃣ seats are held by Republicans. Quite an imbalance, and thus an opportunity.
Those not seeking re-election in 2026 are 3 Republican senators announced so far, with one on the edge. Not even Susan Collins can be as concerned about Joni (“We are all going to die!”) Ernst as I am.
We can turn Maine, Iowa, North Carolina, and Arkansas. We just have to do it. (Yes, you can quote me.)
Imagine a Democrat taking McConnell's seat in Kentucky, if you will! Our work is cut out for us. Here is Daniel Solomon’s Substack page.
Judge Solomon says this is the political landscape: of the 33 states holding Senate elections in 2026:
Trump (R) won 21 of those states in 2024 and Harris (D) won 12.
Democrats will be defending 2 states that Trump won in 2024: Georgia and Michigan.
Republicans will be defending 1 seat in a state Harris won: Maine. Goodbye concerned Susan!
The last time, 20 Republican-held Senate seats were up for election in 2020, 4 were decided by a margin of less than 10%:
Iowa (6.6%),
Maine (8.6%),
North Carolina (1.8%), and
Texas (9.6%).
The last time the 13 Democratic-held Senate seats were up for election in 2020, 5 were decided by a margin of less than 10%:
Colorado (9.3%),
Georgia (1.2%),
Michigan (1.7%),
Minnesota (5.3%), and
New Mexico (6.1%).
We should make an election strategy plan on:
Capito, Shelley Moore (R-WV)
Cassidy, Bill (R-LA)
Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) (Retiring)
Collins, Susan M. (R-ME)
Cornyn, John (R-TX)
Cotton, Tom (R-AR)
Daines, Steve (R-MT)
Ernst, Joni (R-IA) (Has not announced.)
Graham, Lindsey (R-SC)
Hagerty, Bill (R-TN)
Hyde-Smith, Cindy (R-MS)
Lummis, Cynthia M. (R-WY)
Marshall, Roger (R-KS)
McConnell, Mitch (R-KY) (Retiring)
Mullin, Markwayne (R-OK)
Ricketts, Pete (R-NE)
Risch, James E. (R-ID)
Rounds, Mike (R-SD)
Sullivan, Dan (R-AK)
Tuberville, Tommy (R-AL) (Retiring)
Look at those states.
Those representatives just viciously attacked their own poor, needy, and disadvantaged constituents. Medicare and Medicaid cuts will kill their local healthcare systems while increasing the needy’s income taxes and making them pay tariff-inflated prices at the grocery store. Did I mention their car insurance will greatly increase because of new huge tariffs on imported parts, aluminum, and steel?
Succinctly, these Republicans are robbing the poor to fatten the rich.
Unconscionable Representation. These Republican representatives are crooks. Thanks to Daniel Solomon for doing this baseline and pointing out the misrepresentation and the opportunity we have to turn the Senate.
And at protests, yell like hell, as Jackson Brown sang, til you go down. Yes, take to the streets.
I’m grateful to everyone who sponsors me, and the main thing I want to add: Thank you for finding my voice. You have given that a place and a meaning. Please become a paid subscriber if you can. Thank you for reading and for sharing.
I am waiting on a return call to my auto insurance entity to explain why my car insurance is up this year by 25%, when there is absolutely NO change in my policy information (no accidents, etc.). Being on SS (which went DOWN last year because of Medicare gulping a larger share than the COLR built into the SS program) made sure that I got less than in 2024 has got me concerned that the flagellation of those who have less will continue. Anyone in a similar situation?
We simply MUST help all Dems get elected in the upcoming Special Elections so we can change the balance of power in the House 💙 THIS YEAR
